At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 17 December 2025, the Shire of Narrogin Council resolved to transition the delivery of Narrogin Regional Homecare Services to an external provider. It is proposed that the transition to a new provider will be completed by 30 June 2026. This decision follows an Expression of Interest process that commenced in September 2025 and aims to ensure the long-term sustainability and continued high quality delivery of homecare services for the Narrogin community.

LIFTED 4:30PM 15/12/25 - The Shire of Narrogin has declared a Harvest and Vehicle Movement Ban, which is effective immediately across the entire Shire of Narrogin due to current weather conditions. This ban is in place from 08:15am on Monday 15 December 2025.

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 6.19 of the Local Government Act 1995, that the Shire of Narrogin has adopted new Fees and Charges for Community Assisted Transport Services for the 2025/26 financial year effective from 1 January 2026.

The Shire of Narrogin welcomes the Federal Government’s announcement of $535,358 in federal funding to electrify the Narrogin Regional Leisure Centre’s aquatic facilities, replacing the ageing gas boiler with a high-efficiency heat pump supported by a 200kW solar installation.

The Shire of Narrogin invites Expressions of Interest to lease the Soldiers Memorial Hall, located at 29 Egerton Street, Narrogin. This landmark heritage building, formerly the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) Hall, is a prominent and recognisable property within the Narrogin town centre. The premises feature a large open hall area, kitchen facilities, and supporting office and storage rooms, offering flexibility for a range of commercial, professional, cultural or community purposes. The Shire welcomes proposals from prospective lessees and service providers who can demonstrate a viable and sustainable use for the facility that complements Narrogin’s town centre and contributes to local activation. Community-based applications will only be considered where the applicant is an incorporated or otherwise approved association under relevant legislation.

The Shire of Narrogin hereby invites nominations from community members to serve as volunteer representatives on the following Council Committees and Reference Groups. Serving as a member is a rewarding way to help guide local decision-making, represent community interests, and contribute to the ongoing development and vibrancy of Narrogin. The Shire of Narrogin advises that, in accordance with Section 17 of the Bush Fires Act 1954, the Prohibited Burning Period will commence on Saturday, 1 November 2025, and remain in effect until Sunday, 1 March 2026.

In accordance with section 5.25 of the Local Government Act 1995, the Shire of Narrogin advises that Council Meetings will be held at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers, 89 Earl Street, Narrogin on the following Wednesday evenings in 2026.

The Shire of Narrogin is proud to announce the official reopening of the restored Historic Narrogin Railway Station Goods Shed, to be celebrated with a community Sundowner event on Monday 17 November 2025, from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm at 21 Fairway Street, Narrogin. The restoration project was proudly funded under the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program – Phase 3. Additional contributions from the Shire funded accessibility upgrades such as a fully accessible ramp and toilet block, as well as exterior painting under the broader scope of the upgrade.

In accordance with Section 4.77 of the Local Government Act 1995, Cr Graham Broad was elected unopposed to the position of Deputy Shire President, at the Shire’s Ordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday 22 October 2025.

The Western Australian Electoral Commission have formally declared the results of the 2025 local government elections.

The Shire of Narrogin congratulates Roxanne McNab, Murray Fisher and Clive Bartron on their election as Councillors for the Narrogin District, following the election held on 18 October 2025. Each will hold office until 20 October 2029.

At its meeting on 24 September 2025, the Shire of Narrogin Council resolved to commence a public Expression of Interest (EOI) process for the potential transition of Narrogin Regional Homecare Services to an external, accredited aged care provider. This decision reflects the increasing demand for services, the changing Commonwealth funding environment and heightened regulatory requirements in aged care with the implementation of the new Aged Care Act 2024 and Support at Home from 1 November 2025.

The Shire of Narrogin has cautiously welcomed the approval of the Neoen led Narrogin Wind Farm, the third large-scale renewable energy project to receive development approval in recent months and slated to be located and constructed within the Shire, further cementing the Shire as the centrepiece of the emerging Narrogin Renewable Energy Zone (NREZ).

The Shire of Narrogin invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from accredited and experienced aged care providers to explore the potential transfer of Narrogin Regional Homecare operations to an external, approved provider. This EOI seeks parties capable of maintaining high-quality services, a strong local presence, and seamless continuity for clients and staff.

The Shire of Narrogin is holding an election by postal vote on Saturday, 18 October 2025 to fill vacancies in the offices of President and Councillors as listed. The president has been elected unopposed.
