Shire of Narrogin Launches Custom MONOPOLY® Board Celebrating Local Businesses and Community
The Shire of Narrogin is proud to announce the development of a custom Narrogin edition of MONOPOLY®, a unique community legacy project that will showcase local businesses, community groups, and iconic places through a fully customised version of the world’s favourite family board game.
Facilitated by the Shire of Narrogin, and developed under license from Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, MONOPOLY: Shire of Narrogin Edition brings together economic development, community pride, and creative placemaking. The board will feature local business categories, community-themed cards, and key Narrogin and Dryandra attractions, creating a tangible keepsake that reflects the character and diversity of the region.
The project will be delivered in two stages. The first stage focuses on community and business engagement and fundraising, delivered through a silent auction. The silent auction will open online on 6 March 2026 and conclude at the MONOPOLY: Shire of Narrogin Edition Silent Auction Dinner on Friday, 20 March 2026, to be held at the John Higgins Centre. Bidding will be managed through the GalaBid platform, allowing both online and in-person participation.
Local businesses will be invited to compete for board spaces within defined categories, while community groups, businesses and organisations may participate through Community Chest and Chance card sponsorships. Higher bids will unlock additional sponsorship benefits and priority placement, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
The second stage of the project will see the finalisation of artwork, design approvals, and production of the game. Subject to successful fundraising outcomes, an initial production run of 1,500 games will be completed, with delivery expected by October 2026 and public release planned ahead of Christmas 2026.
The MONOPOLY: Shire of Narrogin Edition project has already been presented to the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce, where it received positive feedback and strong interest from the local business community.
Shire President Leigh Ballard said the MONOPOLY: Shire of Narrogin Edition project is a bold and exciting way to showcase the town’s local businesses and community pride.
“This is a chance for our businesses to step onto a national icon and put Narrogin on the board in a truly unique way. MONOPOLY: Shire of Narrogin Edition is about celebrating who we are, supporting each other, and creating something the whole community can be proud of. It’s your business, your town, your move — and we’re inviting our local businesses and community groups to be part of it.”
