Council Committee Participation

Committees of Council

Committees of Council are established under legislation and report to Council. Council retains control over their establishment, membership, and dissolution. These Committees do not have delegated authority but provide recommendations to Council for decision-making. Meetings are not generally open to the public; however, members of the public may attend if prior approval has been granted.

Council Reference Groups

Reference Groups are established by Council to provide advice and make recommendations to Shire Officers. Council maintains control over their formation, membership and dissolution. Reference Group meetings are not open to the public.
