The Shire of Narrogin wishes to advise residents, businesses and road users that an Event Traffic Management Plan will be in place around the Narrogin CBD on Tuesday 9 July 2019 between 9 am and 11.30 am as part of celebrations to commemorate NAIDOC Week. This will include a Temporary Road closure on Federal Street between 10 am and 11 am. Road users are requested to exercise caution and follow traffic detour signs when travelling in and around the CBD on during these times.

In the 2018/2019 Budget the Shire of Narrogin included $20,000 for the installation of play equipment and shade structures in Ashworth Park, located on Ashworth Crescent Narrogin. To further enhance the look of the park, the project included an Indigenous artwork element designed by a local artist using images based on, and fashioned around subject matter which acknowledges Narrogin’s Noongar history and culture.

Effect – to control the collection, disposal and storage of waste and recyclable materials for the benefit and health of the community and protection of the environment.

Wednesday 27th March saw an announcement of the Federal Government’s $70 million commitment through the Roads of Strategic Importance (ROSI) initiative for the Wheatbelt Secondary Freight Route (WSFR). The Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack joined representatives of the WSFR in Bindoon to mark the funding announcement. The Deputy PM, who is also the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, has been very receptive to what the project group is trying to achieve with the WSFR network.
