Community Consultation – Proposed Major Entry Statements for Narrogin
The Shire of Narrogin is inviting community members to provide feedback on the proposed replacement of four major entry statements located at key entrances to the Narrogin townsite.
As part of the Shire’s adopted Ten Year Public Art Program 2024–2034, the Townscape Advisory Committee (TAC) identified the replacement of the existing silo-style entry statements as a high priority project aimed at enhancing the visual identity and appeal of Narrogin.
The proposed replacement entry statements are planned for the following locations:
- Williams Kondinin Road (East entry to town from Wickepin);
- Williams Kondinin Road (West entry near the Cemetery);
- Great Southern Highway (entry from Wagin); and
- Great Southern Highway (entry from Cuballing).
The proposed designs were developed in consultation with the Townscape Advisory Committee and are intended to create a modern and welcoming gateway into Narrogin while reflecting the community’s identity and pride.
The estimated cost of the project is approximately $171,000 excluding GST, with each structure estimated at $42,750 excluding GST. Subject to community feedback and future budget considerations, the Administration has proposed a staged delivery approach of one entry statement per financial year over four years.
Community members are encouraged to provide feedback during the 30-day public comment period commencing from the date of publication of this notice.
