Community Assisted Transport Service (C.A.T.S.)
The C.A.T.S. service provides transport for Narrogin and surrounding communities who need to attend specialist medical appointments or services not available locally.
This is a volunteer-supported service designed to assist people who are unable to travel independently.
Bookings
Bookings are managed by the Shire of Narrogin.

🕘 Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Please note:
- Bookings should be made at least one week in advance
- Appointments should be scheduled within 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- The service operates Monday to Friday only (no weekends or public holidays)
All bookings are subject to availability.
A C.A.T.S. Coordinator will review your request and contact you within 2 business days to confirm your booking.
New to C.A.T.S.?
All new clients are required to complete a Client Profile Form before their first booking.
Medical Appointment Confirmation
Once your booking request has been reviewed, the C.A.T.S. Coordinator will request confirmation of your medical appointment.
This can be provided as:
- SMS confirmation
- Email confirmation
- Appointment letter
The confirmation must clearly show the date, time, and location of your appointment.
Eligibility and Travel Conditions
- Pick-up is available within Narrogin or from towns along the travel route (e.g. Cuballing, Williams, Wandering or Boddington)
- If you live outside these areas, you may be required to meet the driver in Narrogin or on-route (see above)
- A maximum of three passengers per trip is permitted (including support persons)
Support and Accessibility
You may:
- travel independently
- travel with a support person
- request a volunteer support person
Please note:
- Volunteer support persons are not medical professionals
- They can assist with getting in and out of the vehicle and escorting you to reception only
- They cannot provide medical care or assistance
If you require:
- wheelchair access
- walking frames or mobility aids
please advise this at the time of booking, as vehicle space is limited.

Important Information
- All fees include the driver’s lunch ($18)
- If a support person is required, an additional $18 will be charged to cover their lunch
- The above fees apply to a same-day one-way or return trip
- If travel occurs over two separate days (e.g. overnight stay), the fee will be charged twice (fee × 2)
- The total fee will be confirmed at the time of booking
Please note:
- The final fee will be confirmed at the time of booking
- Payment is required by Friday 1:00 p.m. prior to the week of travel
- Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received
- Unpaid bookings will be cancelled
We recommend payment by credit card:
- Refunds are processed within one week for card payments
- Cash refunds may take up to one month due to additional processing
Cancellations, Refunds and Travel Reimbursement (PATS)
If you cancel your booking at least one (1) day prior to travel, a full refund will be issued.
C.A.T.S. operates independently from the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS).
If you are eligible for PATS and wish to claim travel reimbursement, you will need to organise and submit your claim separately.
