LEASE OPPORTUNITY– SOLDIERS MEMORIAL HALL (FORMER RSL BUILDING)

The Shire of Narrogin invites Expressions of Interest to lease the Soldiers Memorial Hall, located at 29 Egerton Street, Narrogin.

This landmark heritage building, formerly the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) Hall, is a prominent and recognisable property within the Narrogin town centre. The premises feature a large open hall area, kitchen facilities, and supporting office and storage rooms, offering flexibility for a range of commercial, professional, cultural or community purposes.

The Shire welcomes proposals from prospective lessees and service providers who can demonstrate a viable and sustainable use for the facility that complements Narrogin’s town centre and contributes to local activation.

Community-based applications will only be considered where the applicant is an incorporated or otherwise approved association under relevant legislation.

Whilst the property will be offered on an ‘as-is’ basis, the Shire would be very interested in supporting applications for grants for its refurbishment. The heritage character and identity of the former RSL Hall must be retained as part of any future use, refurbishment or fit-out.

Interested parties are asked to provide the following details in their submission:

  • Overview of the intended use of the premises
  • Any proposed improvements (if any) it would seek to make and any contributions (to that refurbishment) the Shire might be asked to contribute, expressed as a percentage and estimated dollar value;
  • Proposed lease term (and any options) and rental offer per annum;
  • Relevant experience or organisational background; and
  • Description of the anticipated community and / or economic benefits.

Please note, the Shire is not bound to accept any proposal and may negotiate with preferred proponents. Any resulting lease will be subject to Council approval under Section 3.58 of the Local Government Act 1995.
