Community Consultation – Preferred Design for Town Entry Statements
The Shire of Narrogin is inviting community feedback on the preferred design for new entry statements for the towns of Narrogin and Highbury. These statements are intended to create a welcoming gateway for visitors and reflect the character of our two towns.
The project, estimated at $25,000 in total, will be delivered in stages to ensure it is both practical and achievable. It proposes to replace the existing entry statement on Narrakine Road (at the junction of Fleay Road) and add a new statement on Narrogin-Harrismith Road for Narrogin, as well as replace the existing statements on the northern and southern approaches to Highbury along the Great Southern Highway.
Designs for the four larger entrances to the Narrogin townsite on Williams-Kondinin Road (east from Wickepin and west by the cemetery) and on the Great Southern Highway (entries from Wagin and Cuballing) are still to be considered by the Townscape Advisory Committee.
At its August 2025 meeting, the Townscape Advisory Committee recommended preferred concept designs, which Council endorsed in principle. Council is now seeking public comment to help shape the final decision.
The proposed design concepts are available to view:
For background, please see the Ordinary Council Meeting Minutes – 27 August 2025 (Unconfirmed).
