Once again Narrogin and surrounds has lit up for Christmas with numerous households displaying bright and colourful installations of Christmas lights, and the judges have visited every street.
The judges drove around the streets of Narrogin and Highbury between the hours of 7 and 9 pm in mid-December checking out the colourful and creative displays, and at the end of the judging period, deliberated on which displays they considered to be the best for this year. The winners were announced at the last Ordinary Council Meeting for the year which was held on Wednesday 18 December 2019.
At that meeting, the Shire President announced the winners of the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce vouchers, which are donated by the Shire, and redeemable for any goods or services at Chamber Member businesses. And this year’s winners are:
1st Prize – (Value $250) – won by 100 Bannister Street (S Schmerer)
2nd Prize – (Value $200) – won by 71 Furnival Street (R.Lee)
3rd Prize – (Value $150) – won by 71 Clayton Road (M Kulker)
Shire President Leigh Ballard said “We hoped to make it easier for entrants again this year by doing away with the requirement to register their installation, that way everyone in the two townships had a chance to win” he also said, “we do have a rule that a household cannot win two years in a row”.
