Accessing Our Building Services – For Non-Residents

If you live outside the Shire of Narrogin but are interested in using our Local Government to Local Government (LG2LG) Building Services, here’s what you need to know.

Please note: We are unable to accept building applications directly from individuals, property owners, or ratepayers for properties located outside our Shire. These services are only available through your own local government, provided they have a formal agreement in place with the Shire of Narrogin.

So what does this mean for you?

If your property isn’t within the Shire of Narrogin, you’ll need to contact your local council (Shire, Town, or City). They’ll assist you with lodging your building application and, if applicable, will work with us directly as part of our LG2LG service arrangement.

Why is this the case?
The Shire of Narrogin provides building services to other councils under formal agreements. These partnerships mean that we only deal directly with the local government itself, not with applicants from outside our own district.

✅ What You Need to Do

  1. Identify your local government if you’re unsure.

  2. Visit or contact your local council's Building or Planning department.

  3. Let them know you’d like to lodge a building application.

  4. If they use Narrogin’s LG2LG Building Services, they will manage the application process for you.
