Kerbside Recycling

The Town of Narrogin is pleased to announce that a fortnightly recycling collection service will be commencing shortly for residential dwellings in the Town.

The yellow-lidded 240 Litre wheelie bin, which has, or will shortly be delivered to your home is for your recyclable domestic waste. All recyclable items can be placed in the bin – they do not need to be sorted. The attached sheet should be used as a guide to what materials can be placed in the yellow lid Recycling Bin.

The recycling bin should be placed out with your normal green lid bin on your normal collection day, every second week, commencing as shown below:

Kerbside Recycling Collection Days
Normal Collection DayFirst Day Recycling Collection
Monday 14th July 2014
Wednesday 16th July 2014
Thursday 17th July 2014
Friday 18th July 2014

Importantly the materials should be placed in the bin separately and not in plastic bags. The use of plastic bags can hinder the recycling process and may result in the materials not being recycled but ending up in landfill, defeating the purpose of the recycling program.

In closing we ask that Recyclable items are kept be free of "contaminants" such as food residues, lids, plastic wrapping, etc. Food scraps and green/garden wastes are also contaminating to the recycling process and must also be kept OUT of the yellow-lidded recycle bin.

Should you have any queries regarding this service please contact the Executive Manager Development and Regulatory Services on 9890 0900.
