Lotterywest - $159 million COVID-19 Relief Fund 

The State Government, through Lotterywest is committing $159 million in to a COVID-19 Relief Fund to respond to the hardship being experienced by the Western Australian community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Crisis & Emergency Relief

Up to $20 million in grant funding is available for Western Australian not-for-profit community sector organisations and local government authorities to provide crisis and emergency relief services to:

  • People currently experiencing hardship that are at risk of becoming entrenched in disadvantage due to the crisis
  • People newly experiencing hardship as a result of COVID-19; and
  • Those that are most at risk of serious infection (immune compromised, older people, diagnosed chronic medical conditions, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples).

Event Cancellation Relief for Arts, Sports and Community Groups

Up to $14 million will be available for not-for-profit arts, sports and community organisations that are experiencing financial hardship as a result of events cancelled due to COVID‑19.

This program will consider cancellation costs and incurred and/or committed costs related to events cancelled between 16 March 2020 and 15 September 2020. Arts, culture and community organisations can also seek support relating to actual and/or anticipated revenue that is necessary to deliver services or programs.

Stream A – Up to $5 million for relief to sport and recreation organisations

Stream B – Up to $5 million for relief to culture and arts organisations

Stream C – Up to $4 million for relief to other community organisations

Sector Support for Resilient Organisations

Applications are open from Friday 24 April – midnight Wednesday 13 May. Please call 133 777 to request an application form.

Up to $25 million will be available for not-for-profit arts, sports and community organisations across the State to maintain staff, pivot operations, collaborate, develop new ways of working, innovate, maintain viability and build resilience as appropriate for future recovery.

The program will contribute towards ensuring that eligible organisations are able to continue delivering benefit for the Western Australian community during the State of Emergency.

Stream D – Up to $8 million for relief to sport and recreation organisations

Stream E – Up to $8 million for relief to culture and arts organisations

Steam F – Up to $9 million for relief to other community organisations

RAF – Funding to continue support for the regional arts community

The State Government will invest $2.1 million over the next three years to ensure the continuity of grant funding for regional organisations and individuals delivering arts and cultural activities in their communities.

The Regional Arts Sector Investment (RASI) program will be extended for currently funded organisations until the end of the year. The next round of the program will provide more funding opportunities that its previous iteration when it opens later this year.

The RASI program covers operational and employment costs associated with the delivery of regional arts services and programs for regional communities. The fund prioritises the employment of regional Western Australians.
