The recent round of the Shire of Narrogin’s Community Chest Grants Fund received several applications for funding assistance for upcoming large scale community events.

Council resolved to support these events through sponsorship agreements from the 2020/2021 Annual Events Budget.

West Coast Jet Sprint Club will receive a one off contribution of up to $5,000 towards some of the costs of essential services provided by local Narrogin businesses for the event.

Narrogin Golf Club will receive a one-off contribution of $4,000 towards the costs to host the State Sand Greens Championships in 2021. Comments from the Golf Club Committee include ‘’ Your offer of $4,000 one-off sponsorship was enthusiastically received by our Committee….your grant monies will be used to good effect in getting our clubhouse and kitchen areas improved so that we may cater for the large crowds. On behalf of the Narrogin Gold Club, we thank the Shire for it’s generosity’’.

Narrogin Blue Light Unit will receive $5,000 towards the associated costs to coordinate the hugely successful annual Back to School Blue Light event in January 2021, with Council resolving to consider ongoing financial support in the Annual Events Budget. David van Ooran, WA PCYC’s CEO, said “We really appreciate this support from the Shire. Blue Light is such an effective way for WA Police, our key partner, PCYC and the Shire to get together with kids and young people and help build better relationships, give them something fun to do in the school holidays, and ultimately help keep the community safer”.
