Round 1 of the Shire of Narrogin’s Landcare Project Funding closed on 31 August 2020 and attracted two applications, both of which received approval at the Shire of Narrogin Ordinary Council Meeting on the 22 September 2020 with funds approved totalling $6,579.95.
The Landcare Project Funding was open to applicants whose properties are situated outside the Narrogin and Highbury town sites, and within the Shire of Narrogin, with applicants invited to apply for up to $5,000 funding support to address salt affected, eroded and other land rehabilitation issues on their property.
Over 17 hectares of land and creek line will benefit by the planting of over 12,000 Australian Native plants, which over time will dramatically assist in the rehabilitation of salt effected land and prevent further erosion and make a positive environmental impact.
A balance of $18,420 remains for the next round of applications which will be advertised again, in February 2021.
