PRIZES FOR BEST CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS

This year, the Shire of Narrogin will again be awarding prizes for the best Christmas displays in Narrogin and Highbury. Judging will occur between the dates of 14-18 December. Residents are asked to have their display lights turned on during the judging period between 7 and 9 pm for the Shire’s drive-by judges.

Once again, registration is not required, the competition is open to everyone who has a display in their front yard - so everyone has a chance to win.

Shire President Leigh Ballard said ‘’You can dob in a display that you think is worthy of a visit by the judges by contacting the Shire and they will post the address on their Facebook page for others to be able to enjoy’’.

“By encouraging neighbours to get out and about, chat with one another and share in the spirit of Christmas we can build relations that help grow our community” Leigh Ballard added.

In addition, the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the “Best Christmas Window Display” in the CBD. Newly elected Chairperson of the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce, Bill O’Neill said “We have seen a lot of new businesses start up in Narrogin this year which is absolutely fantastic – it shows that there is confidence in the shoppers of Narrogin and nearby districts buying locally wherever practically possible. With the extraordinary year just had, it would be great for the whole community to get into the Christmas spirit as most of us are staying home this year”.

There will be four winners who will receive Narrogin Chamber of Commerce vouchers and winners will be contacted by the Shire and the Chamber in time to spend them before Christmas. First prize is $250, second prize is $200 and third prize is $150. The “Best Christmas Window Display” will receive $200. The vouchers are redeemable for goods, or services, at any of the many businesses who are members of the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce.
