Narrogin’s War Memorial, located in Memorial Park has had new cast bronze plaque fitted to the north facing plinth wall containing the names of the soldiers from WWI whose names were omitted from the original plaques when they were commissioned in 1937.

When the original plaques were commissioned, the names of the servicemen listed were provided by family members of those who had died in service, or by community members who had knowledge of men who had lost their lives and not necessarily those who had enlisted in Narrogin.

The President of the Narrogin Sub Branch of the RSL, Mr Hendrikus Chattillon has undertaken extensive research over several years to establish an accurate record of the names of the men who enlisted in Narrogin, served and died during The Great War. Mr Chattillon said ‘’ It has been an honour and labour of love to bring the names of these soldiers to light and to have them memorialised this way’’.

The plaque entitled ‘Narrogin Roll of Honour 1914-1918’ is a more accurate and fitting honour to those soldiers who enlisted in Narrogin and gave their lives in WWI.
