Christmas Lights Competition Winners 2020

Narrogin has decorated their facades at home and at work for Christmas again – and what a display.

Numerous households are displaying bright and colourful installations of Christmas lights, and the judges have visited every street. Also, this year, the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Best Business Window in the Narrogin CBD.

The judges cruised around Narrogin and Highbury over the last week, and at the end of the period, deliberated on who they thought the best displays were for this year.

At the last Council meeting for the year, the Shire President announced the winners of the Narrogin Chamber of Commerce vouchers donated by the Shire.  The vouchers are redeemable for any goods or services at Chamber Member businesses and the winners for this year are:

1st Prize – (Value $250) – won by 45 Fox Street Narrogin (Alan & Lindy Donaldson)

2nd Prize – (Value $200) – won by 6 Harper Street (Wayne & Michelle Ewen)

3rd Prize – (Value $150) – won by 6 Hale Street (Mark & Sue Regan)

The Best CBD Business Window was judged by Narrogin Chamber of Commerce and the winner was

Wild & Waste Free.

The judges said, “We were impressed with the number of houses with Christmas lights this year and judged over 20 diverse displays. It was difficult to choose between the many different styles of decoration. The display at 45 Fox was a clear winner - we were impressed with the combination of wooden cut outs, lights and coverage of the whole yard. Second place at 6 Harper Street showed a clear Santa theme while third place at 6 Hale had more classic lines and gorgeous white cut out angels and nativity scene.

Last year’s winners at 100 Bannister Street and last year’s runner-up at 71 Furnival Street both, once again, put on impressive displays.

It was obvious that the CBD businesses put in an extraordinary effort and the CBD is looking very festive indeed.

Thank you to everyone who has gone to so much effort to help celebrate the festive season in Narrogin it was a pleasure to judge this year’s Christmas lights on behalf of the Shire of Narrogin.”
