Deceased Animals in Public Areas

If you come across a deceased animal in a public space such as:

  • Parks

  • Roads

  • Footpaths

Please report it to the Shire. Our Ranger Services may attend to remove the animal where appropriate.

Dogs and cats may be scanned for a microchip, and if ownership details are located, the Shire will attempt to contact the owner.

Disposal of Deceased Animals

The Shire of Narrogin recognises that the loss of a pet or discovery of deceased animals can be distressing. Below is important information for residents regarding proper disposal and who to contact depending on the location and circumstances.

Disposal by Residents

Residents may dispose of deceased animals—such as pets or livestock—at the White Road Waste Management Facility.

  • Fees may apply depending on the size and type of animal.
