Environmental Health Officer - Development and Regulatory Services

Local Government Industry Award  ($48,000 - $50,000)

The Shire of Narrogin has an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and self motivated individual to work as an Environmental Health Officer.  

The applicant should be a graduate or be studying towards a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health).

The objectives of this position are:

  • Implement and maintain public, environmental health, programs and projects in accordance with statutory

      obligations, operational procedures and council policies.

    • Undertake and document programs for preventative, proactive and legislative compliance to ensure that Council meets its duty of care in providing a safe healthy environment for the community.

    • Assist to develop strategies to administer health and food regulation based on the prevention and risk management philosophies embedded in the Public Health Act 2016 and Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911.and Food Act 2008.

    • Ensure a professional work environment while providing helpful, efficient and courteous service to Senior Staff and fellow employees and to provide helpful, efficient and courteous service to the general public.

    The is a full time position with a salary range of between $48,000 - $50,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The initial contract will be for a minimum of two (2) years with the possibility of a one  (1) year extension. the Shire of Narrogin also offers superannuation of up to 15% subject to matching contributions.

    Ranger/Minor Building Maintenance - Development and Regulatory Services

    Local Government Industry Award  ($46,000 - $48,000)

    The Shire of Narrogin has an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and self motivated individual to work in a team environment as a Regulatory Services Officer (Ranger).  this person will also assist with some minor building maintenance (handyman) tasks. 

    The objective of this position is to ensure effective and efficient administration and enforcement of Shire of Narrogin Local Laws, Acts, Regulations and Council Policy that fall within the jurisdiction of the Ranger Services Section (Animal, Litter, Bushfire, Parking Control, Caravan and Camping, Off Road).

    The candidate will have/or be working toward a Certificate in Law A and B

    The is a full time position with a salary range of between $46,000 - $48,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Plus, superannuation of up to 15% subject to matching contributions.

    Planning Officer - Development and Regulatory Services

    The Shire of Narrogin has an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and self motivated individual to work as a Planning Officer.  

    The applicant should be a graduate or be studying towards a Bachelor of Arts (Urban ans Regional Planning).

    The objectives of this position are:

    • To contribute to the co-ordination of functions, processes and responsibilities related to Statutory Planning, to ensure the delivery of an integrated and customer focused service.
    • To provide appropriate and substantiated advice and recommendations on statutory planning issues to a wide range of customers including Council, staff, community members and the development industry
    • To assist in the implementation of process improvement, provide technical guidance and liaise effectively with divisional staff to ensure appropriate long-term objectives of the organisation can be achieved.

    Narrogin Regional Homecare - Casual Support Worker

    The Shire is seeking a casual support worker who enjoys working with and helping others. The successful candidate will need to have a kind and caring nature and a commitment to assisting the elderly and clients with disability remain independent in their own homes.

    As a Support Worker you will help improve the quality of life for our clients by assisting with their day to day care needs while ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients is maintained. You will be required to follow the Client’s Care Plan, ensure food, laundry, transport and domestic services are delivered appropriately, and complete all documentation as required.

    You will need to have a kind and caring nature and a commitment to providing our elderly clients and clients with disability with the highest quality of services to assist them to remain independent in their own homes.
