Notice is hereby given that the Shire of Narrogin at its meeting held on 27 March 2024, adopted the Local Planning Policy on Wind Farm/Turbines. The purpose of this policy is to provide a framework for the assessment, approval, and regulation of wind farms and turbines within the Shire of Narrogin. This policy seeks to ensure that any proposed wind energy projects are developed in a manner that minimises negative impacts and maximises the benefits to the community and the environment.

The Shire of Narrogin is one of several designated Astrotourism Towns in Western Australia. This recognition comes as the Shire celebrates Dark Sky Week 2-8 April 2024, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about light pollution and promoting the appreciation of dark skies.

As we approach the Easter weekend, it is crucial to be mindful of our environment and take necessary precautions to ensure everyone's safety. In line with this, we want to inform the public about a temporary suspension of burning permits during the Easter weekend. From midnight Thursday 28 March, until midnight on Monday 1st, April, all permits to burn stubble and garden waste during the restricted burning period will be suspended. The Shire of Narrogin gives notice as per Section 3.58 (3) of the Local Government Act 1995 of its intention to re-lease 41-43 Federal Street Narrogin, to CSBP Ltd for an annual lease for a two (2) year term, $12,420 (ex GST) for the first year and then $13,041 (ex GST) effective from 1 March 2025.
