We have had 2 confirmed Parvovirus cases in Narrogin in the past 2 weeks. Parvovirus is a highly contagious and often fatal viral disease that can affect young puppies and all unvaccinated dogs. The main source of the virus is through the faeces of an infected dog. The virus is easily transmitted via the hair or feet of infected dogs, contaminated shoes, clothes and other objects.
We wish to ask all dog owners in Narrogin not to be complacent with your dogs’ health and continue to:
- Be vigilant with maintaining regular vaccinations.
- Keep parks and public spaces free of dog excreta.
If you notice your dog showing signs of excessive vomiting, loss of appetite, bloody diarrhoea or lethargy and tiredness, contact your veterinarian immediately.
