Make sure you have a hose that can reach all corners of your property.

All properties greater than 4050m2 (1 acre) need fire breaks installed and
20m clearance of flammable materials around buildings eg. Cut down all long
grass. (Must do before 1 November).

Properties less than 4050m2 (1 acre) need long grass and other fire hazards
cleared. (Must do before 1 November).

Keep gutters clear of leaves and overhanging branches.

Do not store flammable liquids, firewood or other flammable materials close
to or underneath buildings.

Have an evacuation plan for your home.
