Concessions
Pensioners
You may be eligible for a concession of up to 50% or choose to defer the payment of your rates bill if you hold a:
- Pensioner Concession Card; or
- State Concession Card; or
- Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and a WA Seniors Card; or
- Seniors Card
and own and live at the property as at 1 July 2009.
You may be eligible for a pro-rata rebate or deferment if you become an eligible pensioner during the rating year.
To apply for a pensioner concession or deferment of rates you will need to produce a Pension card, complete an application form and present it to Council or by telephoning the Water Corporation on 1300 659 951.
Your one application form will be registered at both organisations, effective from the date either one receives your completed application form.
No concession is allowed if payment is received after 30 June 2010. Outstanding rates as at 1 July 2010 automatically become deferred. Rubbish charges cannot be deferred.
Seniors
Subject to certain conditions, you may qualify for a rates concession on property you own and occupy as at 1 July 2009 if you:

Hold a WA Seniors Card or both a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and a WA Seniors Card; or

Become an eligible senior during the rating year which may entitle you to a pro-rata rebate.

Pay your rates by 30 June 2010.
To receive a seniors concession on your rates, you will need to complete a registration form available from the Council or the Water Corporation.
